Analog Devices Inc. LT8491 Demo Board DC2703A
Analog Devices Inc. LT8491 Demo Board DC2703A is designed to evaluate the LT8491 controllers. This demonstration board comes with the DC2703A (LT8491 demo board) and DC1613A (USB-to-I2C controller). The LT8491 and DC1613A devices together provide a high-performance buck-boost battery charger converter with an I2C interface. The LT8491 controllers implement a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) function and flexible charging profiles. This is suitable for most battery types such as flooded, sealed lead-acid batteries, and Li-Ion batteries. The DC1613A is a USB-based controller with generic Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) ports as well as SMBUS/PMBUS capabilities. The DC2703A-A demonstration board is configured for a 17V to 54V input voltage range and up to 200W power source. The LT8491 controllers can operate from input voltages above, below, or equal to the battery voltage. This DC2703A-A demonstration board output is set up for charging a 12V SLA battery with up to 16.6A charge current. The demonstration board can be modified to support much higher output voltage and also modifies a higher voltage rating output side MOSFETs and capacitors. The LT8491 EEPROM on the DC2703A-A demonstration board is programmed with the onboard resistor values to accurately read charger telemetry and status registers data.
